Basic Clicker Training at ACRE in Amesville
Classes are small and personalized. They are limited to 4 people/dog teams. It is a six week class series that meets once a week for an hour. We cover basic behaviors including manners and obedience. Behaviors covered include but are not limited to sit, down, stay, come, loose lead walking and behavior problems such as jumping up. Our hope is to have everyone and their dogs having fun training together. By the end of the class series everyone should have a basic handle on how and when to use the clicker and train basic behaviors.

Canine Good Citizen at ACRE in Amesville
Classes provide an overview of the 10-​step test of the CGC. Participants will be able to gain a basic understanding of how to train and practice each step. Limit 4 people/dog teams. To receive a certificate, your dog must be registered through AKC. Click for more information on the CGC.
*During inclement weather and winter months, classes are inside a heated room.
Private Training Lessons
Private training lessons are customized to meet your needs. Lessons are offered in your home or at ACRE. A travel charge may apply. Please check the services tab for our current rates.
Agility at ACRE in Amesville
Learn the basics and beyond of agility using clicker training techniques. Multiple levels offered.
These are outdoor classes and are weather permitting. Limit 3-4 people/dog teams.
*Not offered during the winter months.

Saving Mazy Project
We have enjoyed the partnership with the Athens County Humane Society through the Saving Mazy Project. Funding has ended for help with reactive or aggressive dogs. Thanks to all that have particpated in this rewarding program.
All classes are a first come, first serve basis.
Please complete an application to start the approval process.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot once approved.
Approved refund requests are issued in the form of credit towards future services.

A clicker is provided to all first time clients in both classes and private lessons. Additional clickers are $2.00 each.

JoAnna Sidote earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Ohio University with a biology major and psychology minor for animal behavior. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and a Mentor Trainer in the Animal Behavior College training program. JoAnna has successfully trained and shown 5 dogs of different breeds and sizes in agility and obedience. She has used clicker training, a positive-based training method since 1997. Using clicker training, she has had the honor of working with many species including dogs, horses, cats, alpacas, pigs, goats, fox, coyote, wolves and squirrels.

JoAnna and her MACH CH Belgian Sheepdog Jedi CD CGC RA NF have earned a championship in conformation and agility. While achieving the title of Master Agility Champion, they were ranked in the Top 5 of the breed and competed at the national level. JoAnna currently works with her Belgian Tervuren Echo AX AXJ RA NF CGC and Border Collie Holly RN. JoAnna’s passion is to help others achieve that special connection with the animals in their lives.

JoAnna has furthered her clicker training skills by attending the 2016 Clicker Expo in Cincinnati, OH, 2012 APDT Conference in Cincinnati, OH, 2011 Clicker Expo in Chicago, IL, 2010 in Lexington, KY, 2007 in Cleveland, OH and 2004 in Philadelphia, PA. She attended a seminar with Ken McCort at the Wolf Park where she worked with and trained the resident Canines including, Wolves, Coyote and Fox. JoAnna typically furthers her training at the Equine Affaire and Mid-West Vet Conference in Columbus, OH every year. She has attended seminars by Karen Pryor, Susan Garrett, Melissa Chandler, Emma Parson, Kathy Sadao, Deborah Jones & Ian Dunbar. JoAnna has been featured in Live Local magazine and on WATH local radio.
